UPDATE: Winter Storm Warning Issued, Snow Estimates Raised

A Winter Storm Warning has been issued by the National Weather Service, in effect at noon on Sunday through midnight Monday. With that, the area is expected to see significantly more snow than originally forecast.

The National Weather Service now thinks we'll see 4-7 inches of snow, with locally higher amounts possible. New data from the weather service also indicates we may see up to a tenth of an inch of ice, with up to a quarter of an inch possible in areas south of the Effingham/Clay county line, as seen in the graphic below.

Moderate to heavy snowfall is expected to begin again Monday afternoon into Tuesday morning. Additional information and radar are available here in our weather section.
