One Person Injured in Crash on Altamont Blacktop

A local woman was injured in a crash Wednesday night on the Altamont Blacktop.

The crash happened just after 7:30pm about two miles north of Altamont at 1200th Avenue.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports 62-year-old Pamela Nease of Effingham lost control of her car, which ran off the right side of the roadway just south of the intersection. The car struck a culvert and then went airborne. The car rolled over several times before coming to rest on its top.

Nease was taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Nease was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
