A group of Republican legislators Wednesday asked Governor J.B. Pritzker to call a special session of the General Assembly to address ethics reform.

The call comes one day after four Republican House membes called for the resignation of House Speaker Michael Madigan and State Auditor General Frank Mautino.

Local State Representative Blaine Wilhour said Illinois citizens know something needs to be done and that Pritzker has discussed the need to root out corruption. Wilhour asked the governor to call the special session before the January 28th start of the regular spring legislative session.

Those who Tuesday called for Madigan and Mautino's resignations said that if Madigan isn't corrupt, he has "presided over a culture of corruption".
