Effingham city police have released details on a Sunday night crash in which an Effingham teenager was injured.

The crash happened at 8:24pm at Jaycee and Banker. Police say a vehicle driven by 42-year-old Brian Mesnard of Noble struck a vehicle in the intersection driven by 17-year-old Madison Helms of Effingham.

Helms was injured and was taken for treatment to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham where she was treated, then released. Police say Mesnard was injured, but refused treatment.

Police cited Mesnard for disobeying a traffic control device.
