The Beecher City Board of Education discussed maintenance projects at this month's meeting.

The Board approved maintenance to be completed on the heating and air-conditioning units at the junior/senior high school. At this time, though, the Board took no action on the boiler system at the grade school, or the installation of an air conditioning unit in the grade school kitchen.

Board members Jordan Shields and David Doty discussed the initial county school boards meeting. The meeting was held to discuss what the districts could do together. Another meeting is set for January 16 in Dieterich.

The Board approved the tentative tax levy with final action in December; agreed to seek grant funds that could lead to property tax relief; and decided to utilize $33,000 in grant funding to help cover salaries for two special education aides.
