The Clinic Effingham made a $5,000 cash contribution to STAR (Strategic Training and Restoration) during a ceremony this week.

STAR is a group that supports those recovering from drug abuse and works through the Problem Solving Court in Effingham and surrounding counties.

The Clinic Effingham spokesman Kelley Esker said the business "believes community involvement is key in providing education, building relationships and giving communities an opportunity to get to know us." Esker said, "It's important to Green Thumb Industries/The Clinic Effingham to pay it forward to non-for-profit organizations, especially those organizations who are helping make a difference and offering a second chance to individuals, such as STAR."
