Two people were injured in a crash along US Route 40 in Jackson Township Monday afternoon.

The crash happened at 1:46pm a half-mile west of 800th Street, at Keptown. Effingham County sheriff's deputies report a vehicle driven by 29-year-old Michael Devore of Altamont was stopped on the highway, waiting for a turning vehicle. A westbound vehicle driven by 26-year-old Randi Feezel of Vandalia hit the Devore unit from behind.

Both Feezel and Devore were injured, but both refused to be taken for treatment.

Feezel was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
