Team Pink Wins Powder Puff Game at EHS

Team Pink emerged the victors in the 2019 Powder Puff football game played Wednesday night at Klosterman Field. The game and a JV contest were played as part of Homecoming Week activities at Effingham High School.

Team Pink scored on a last-second touchdown pass in the corner of the end zone to defeat Team Blue 14-7. The squads were made up of senior girls with members of the Hearts football squad serving as coaches.

The games were played following the Homecoming Parade.

More than $630 was raised for the organization known as Fear Nothing, plus two vendors at Wednesday's event, Toppins Soft Serve and Tropical Sno, announced plans to contribute a portion of their proceeds to Fear Nothing. Fear Nothing is an organization dedicated to help those fighting cancer with some of the expenses involved in the fight.

The Homecoming activities were organized by the EHS Student Council.
