(EFFINGHAM OUTPATIENT CLINIC NURSE MANAGER TAMMY SCHWANINGERBOOSE IS FLANKED BY TWO STAFF MEMBERS AS SHE WELCOMES THOSE GATHERED FOR THURSDAY'S EVENT)

The Effingham Community-Based Veterans Administration Outpatient Clinic marked its 20th anniversary Thursday with a noon hour celebration.

The clinic began on Virginia Avenue as local veterans including Paul Kralman of Teutopolis noted the problem veterans had with traveling to Danville or Marion for services. Kralman's son, our own Doc Kralman, talked about the work done by local veterans to land the outpatient clinic to provide many of the services not formerly available locally.

The original clinic was located on Virginia Avenue, then was relocated to the Lincolnland Building on South 4th Street before the current facility on Ford Avenue was constructed in recent years.

The clinic's Nurse Manager, Tammy SchwaningerBoose, talked with our Greg Sapp about the services available at the Effingham Clinic...

Other speakers included Kralman, Chaplain Tom Lusitana and Donna House from the Marion VA Senior Leadership. The VA Canteen Service provided refreshments for the event.
