The Teutopolis Board of Education has agreed to let the demolition of the 1929 and 1949 sections of their high school building out for bids.

The bid documents will be released for Phase 2 work on October 1. The bids are to be opened on October 17. As an alternate, the Board is seeking bids on construction of a locker room as part of the work.

The Board for several years has discussed what should be included in the high school project. Some contended that the older portions should be rehabilitated, while others favored new construction. Work is already underway on a classroom addition. The taking down of the original sections of the building will be complemented by the construction of a walkway connecting the newer portions of the building with the gym and cafeteria.
