Four semis were involved in a crash Monday night on I-70 at Martinsville.

State police report the crash occurred at 7:20pm at the 137 mile marker. A westbound rig driven by 54-year-old Danielia Kimball of Mattoon ran off the roadway to the left, crossed the median, and sideswiped an eastbound semi driven by 45-year-old Eldar Beganovic of St. Louis, MO. Beganovic's rig overturned off the roadway to the right into the south ditch and embankment. Kimball's rig overturned onto the pavement on the eastbound side, facing northbound, with the rig blocking both eastbound lanes.

A third semi, headed east, driven by 42-year-old Kennedy Kiarie of Cherry Valley, Massachusetts, swerved to the left to avoid striking the Kimball rig, crossed the median, struck the cab of Kimball's semi, and came to a stop on the westbound median shoulder, facing eastbound.

The fourth rig, driven by 28-year-old Malcolm Smith of Lithonia, Georgia, headed eastbound, struck's Kimball's semi and came to a stop in the right eastbound lane, crashed against Kimball's trailer.

Two drivers were taken for treatment; Kimball was airlifted to Carle Hospital in Urbana, while Smith was taken to Terre Haute Regional Hospital.

Kimball was cited for improper lane usage.

The eastbound lanes of I-70 at the crash scene were closed for several hours overnight, with traffic routed off onto US Route 40.
