Teutopolis Fire Protection District firefighters will be going door-to-door in the area North of Main Street (U.S. Route 40), east of Race Street on Walnut Street, Water Street, W. Northern Row, Columbus Street, and Plum Street on Tuesday, September 3 from 6pm to 8pm.

Firefighters will be in Uniform offering to check existing Smoke Detectors (in single family homes), replacing the battery FREE if needed or replacing an existing Smoke Detector FREE if the existing Smoke Detector is over 10 years old. New Smoke Detectors have a 10-year battery life - you never change the battery for the life of the detector.

If the home (single family residence) does not have a working Smoke Detector, firefighters will install one on each level FREE.

If you have any questions, you may message directly on the Teutopolis Fire Protection District Facebook page OR email Chief Tim McMahon at tfpd24@yahoo.com or Assistant Chief Joe Holomy at chiefholomy@hotmail.com.

Other areas of the District will be covered at later dates. The Smoke Detectors are provided by the American Red Cross in cooperation with Fire Departments across the state to insure every home has a working Smoke Detector.
