An Altamont man was arrested following a weekend crash near Lake Sara.

31-year-old Donald T. Bush was arrested on a series of charges. The crash was reported to Illinois State Police at 10:47pm Saturday on North Lakeview Drive near Misty Lane.

According to reports, Bush's car was traveling northeast on North Lakeview Drive when Bush lost control of the vehicle. The car ran off the roadway to the right, struck a tree, and came to rest on the east side of the roadway in a ditch.

Police say Bush left the scene, but was later located. He was injured in the crash and was transported via ambulance to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Authorities say two juvenile females from Effingham were passengers in the car. There was no indication they were taken for treatment.

Bush was cited for DUI alcohol, obstructing or resisting a peace officer, endangering the life of a child, failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, failure to report a crash, leaving the scene of a property damage crash, and illegal transportation of alcohol.
