Power to the Teutopolis Village Hall was knocked out when a tree limb fell on a transformer Wednesday evening, so the Village Board decided to meet outside and use the daylight to complete their business.

The Board brought a table and chairs outside the Hall and went to work.

Board members approved a motion to spend up to $30,000  for water and sewer infrastructure improvement for the Canarm project. The distribution center construction project has been discussed for several months. Canarm is considering the construction of a distribution facility on the east end of Teutopolis, acquiring land from Farmweld if they decided to undertake the project locally. The company has been using space in the Farmweld facility. The allocation of the funds for the infrastructure work is contingent on Canarm placing the facility in Teutopolis.

The Board awarded a bid for street maintenance materials to Larry Heuerman to supply rock and oil; awarded a bid for work on an extension of the Pearl Street sidewalk to State Street to J.B. Esker Construction; and approved the fiscal year appointment ordinance including the village engineer, attorney, building official, police chief, treasurer, board of appeals and plan commission.

The fiscal year appropriations ordinance was to be discussed, but Board members decided is was too windy to handle that much paperwork outside and tabled the matter until their next meeting.
