John Boos & Co., a leader in gourmet butcher block prep surfaces and fabrication of stainless steel restaurant equipment, partnered with Firefly Grill & Midland States Bank to present a check to No Kid Hungry, a national foundation to end childhood hunger.

No Kid Hungry's goal is to end child hunger in America by ensuring that all children receive the healthy, nutritional food they need every day to thrive. 1 in 6 US children struggle with hunger. This statistic encouraged John Boos to be a part of the solution, and to coordinate a fundraiser to help.

A Boos spokesman said, "Being a company that knows a lot about the tools needed to prepare healthy meals, (John Boos provides renewable and sustainable BOOS BLOCKS® cutting boards & prep surfaces to chefs, food enthusiasts, and homes across the world) it was only fitting for John Boos to gather their resources and partner with the Firefly Grill to create a bigger impact and to raise funds for No Kid Hungry."

The fundraising campaign began this past October with John Boos handcrafting and donating a total of 416 special edition No Kid Hungry natural hard maple cutting boards laser engraved with John Boos, Firefly, and No Kid Hungry logos. These boards were displayed at two locations: John Boos Factory Showroom & Outlet (1703 Avenue of Mid America) and Firefly Grill.

With a donation of $25 or more, customers and guests from the community were gifted this special edition cutting board. Midland States Bank purchased the special boards for each and every member of their team for Christmas.

John Boos wanted to thank everyone in the community who contributed to the success of the No Kid Hungry campaign. Also, they wished a thank you to Firefly Grill and Midland States Bank. They said the end goal is one and the same: to raise awareness and end childhood hunger in the U.S.
