Brownstown School Board Holds May Meeting

Brownstown school board members set registration fees for the coming school year at this month's meeting.

The fees will be $95 for elementary students, $120 for junior high and senior high students, and $50 for driver's ed students.

The Board hired Danyle Boaz a high school English teacher for the coming school year; hired Danielle Whitehead as junior high Special Education teacher, and hired Rhonda Gehle as junior-senior high school evening custodian. Three people were named as volunteer assistant coaches; Mike Sasse for junior high girls basketball, Michele Seabaugh for junior high girls basketball, and Holly Koester for high school girls basketball. Austin Foht and Wyatt Chandler were hired as summer janitorial help. The Board also accepted the resignation of Kimberly Splechter as an elementary teacher.

The Board authorized Superintendent Mike Shackelford to start work on a tentative budget for the coming school year, and set a public hearing on the amended budget for the current fiscal year at their June 24 meeting.
