(ROTARY PAST DISTRICT GOVERNOR LARRY HOWELL AND ROTARY WEEKLY STUDENT GUEST OLIVER KINGERY)

Effingham Noon Club Rotarians heard about grant opportunities and ways to give to help others at their meeting May 1.

Rotary Past District Governor Larry Howell spoke about grant availabilities globally and locally, including information that global grants can be used on projects in the area. Howell gave as an example a grant that involved partnering among Rotary clubs in Charleston, Tuscola and Jamaica. There was also information on a global grant spearheaded by Noon Club member Norbert Soltwedel and Sunrise Rotary member Kevin Miller involving a project involving chickens in Uganda.

Howell also shared about several projects pursued in various parts of Mexico, and opportunities to travel to Mexico to see those projects in action.

The Rotary weekly student guest was Oliver Kingery, the son of Brett and Stef Kingery and a senior at St. Anthony High School.
