The Stew-Stras school board has chosen its officers for the coming year.

Bob Schlechte was chosen board president, Barry Wittenberg the vice-president, and Kenda Morris as board secretary.

The Board discussed maintenance projects for this summer. They include replacing the cafeteria tables, upgrading some of the electrical system, Phase 3 of the grade school air-conditioning system, and bidding out work on the school parking lot. The first goal is work in the back of the building, with work in the front being bid as an alternate.

In personnel moves, the Stew-Stras board accepted Mariah Bolin's resignation as Windsor/Stew-Stras varsity girls basketball coach and hired Ben Giertz as the new varsity girls coach. The Board also approved Bob Lockart as varsity boys basketball coach, Sarah Gentry as varsity track coach and Aaron Blythe as assistant coach, Courtney Wittenberg as junior high assistant volleyball coach, and Mark Wascher as junior high head baseball coach.

The Board also approved the retirement of Belinda Bridges as a bus driver; hired Nikki Worman as an elementary teacher; and agreed to advertise for an assistant girls high school basketball coach, a regular route bus driver, and a part-time custodian.
