Barry Wolfe's request to withdraw his guilty pleas regarding sex acts against one of his basketball travel team athletes has been denied.

The 54-year-old Wolfe pleaded guilty last June to two counts of criminal sexual assault while in a supervisory position over the victim, another count of criminal sexual assault, and a count of aggravated criminal sexual abuse of a victim between 13 and 18 years old. He was sentenced to 60 years in prison, leading to Wolfe asking to withdraw his guilty pleas, saying he didn't understand the length of sentence he might receive.

Judge Brian O'Brian Friday denied Wolfe's request. Wolfe's attorney then announced O'Brien's decision will be appealed with the case heard by the Appellate Court.

Wolfe remains in prison while the case is on appeal.
