The Effingham City Zoning Board of Appeals Tuesday gave approval to three requests for variances.

One variance was sought by Tim and Laura Brown. The Browns were granted a reduction in their rear yard setback from 35 feet down to 12 feet for their property located at 1014 North Oceola.

Another variance was sought by Mike and Alyssa Nelson. The Nelsons were granted permission to erect a six-foot vinyl fence in their front yard at 909 West Rickelman Avenue.

The third variance was requested by Blue Beacon Truck Wash. The business was granted a reduction in the front yard setback at 1703 West Evergreen Avenue from 35 feet down to 13 feet.

There were no objectors to any of the requests.
