State Crop Report for Week Ending April 14

There were 1.7 days suitable for fieldwork on average in Illinois during the week ending April 14.

Statewide, the average temperature was 52 degrees, 2.1 degrees above normal. Precipitation averaged 1.2 inches, 0.13 inches above normal. 

Topsoil moisture supply was rated at 44% adequate and 56% surplus. Subsoil moisture supply was rated at 51% adequate and 49% surplus.

Winter wheat headed was 1%, compared to 3% last year and the five-year average of 1%. Winter wheat condition was rated 4% very poor, 9% poor, 28% fair, 55% good, and 4% excellent.
