Election Results from Area Counties

Here are Tuesday election returns from area counties:

In Neoga, the top votegetters for city commissioner were Dustin Hakman, Ron Edwards, Thomas Helm and Ronnie Groves.

For Cumberland school board, the top votegetters were Steve Layton, Pamela Ross, Howard Markwell and Jack Ingram.

For Farina village trustee, the three elected are John Baker, Randy Engel, and Mark Thomas, who beat out Chris Kuhlman by one vote.

Fayette County voters agreed to enact a 1/4% sales tax to help finance new school construction or renovation projects, 1,840 Yes to 1,226 No.

Brownstown village residents voted against remaining a dry community, 88 to 47.

In the Louisville village trustee election, Steve Stortzum, Gina Rinehart and Steven Miller were elected. A fourth candidate, Shirley Acree, dropped out of the running, but too late to take her name off the ballot.

In the Clay City village trustee election, Jim Reynolds, Beth Hance and Beth Prosser were the three elected.

Jerry Burkett and Samuel Kessler were elected to the Xenia Fire Protection District Board of Trustees of five candidates.

In the Stewardson village trustee election, James Lee Carroll was the top vote-getter with 127 votes. Also elected were Adaire Zalman and Wesley Rahn. Bev Wascher was elected to an unexpired two-year term.

Cinda Held was elected to a two-year term as Strasburg Village President.

Chris Long was elected to a two-year term as Sigel Town President.

Those elected to the Stewardson-Strasburg school board are Barry Wittenberg, Kinda Morris, Brent Curry and Ron McClain, a write-in candidate. Stew-Stras voters also agreed to remain in the sports co-op with the Windsor school district, 554 to 132.

The four people elected to the Jasper Unit 1 Board of Education are Bill Meinhart, Jon Fulton, Jason Kuhl and Melissa Stanley.
