House Fire in T-Town Monday Morning

Teutopolis firefighters were called out at 8:39am Monday to a residential structure fire. The call was to 300 S. John Street, where the homeowner phoned 911 reporting the ceiling ventilation fan in the bathroom was on fire. Flames were visible, going into the attic.

Crews used a dry chemical fire extinguisher to knock the fire out. Interior crews checked the attic for any extension of the fire before turning the residence back over to the homeowner. An electrician was summoned to inspect and fix any damaged wiring.

Firefighters were on scene for about 30 minutes.
