St. Anthony WYSE Team Wins 300 Division Sectional

The St. Anthony WYSE team won the 300 Division at the sectional academic challenge at Eastern Illinois University March 7.

WYSE is the acronym for Worldwide Youth in Science and Engineering. High schools came together to battle in biology, chemistry, computer science, engineering graphics, English, mathematics and physics.

Students advancing at the sectional competition will compete at State on April 22.

St. Anthony students who placed include Michael Kaldas--3rd in Chemistry...Rachael Kemme--3rd in English...Suhyun Moon--2nd in Chemistry...Bryson Wall--2nd place tie in Math...Emilee Mossman--1st in Biology...Carly Spraul--1st in Math and 2nd in Biology...Ava Wegman--3rd in Math...Kate Hartke--2nd place tie in Math...Ben Strullmyer--2nd in Physics.

Other team members are Sophia Poston, Allie Dasenbrock, Kaitlyn Zeller, Alex Erickson and Ollie Kingery.
