ISP Squad Car Involved in Effingham Crash

A State Trooper was injured when his stopped car was struck by a vehicle making a turn at the intersection of Raney Street and Fayette Avenue in Effingham at 2:02 Saturday morning.

45-year-old Tamra Wendt of Effingham struck the driver side door of the squad car when making a turn from Fayette Avenue on to Raney Street. 

Wendt was charged with driving under the influence.  

The trooper was later transported to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
