Cowden-Herrick school board members heard at their January meeting that the district is still waiting on State funds.

Superintendent Seth Schuler told the Board that funding is steady and healthy, but that they are still waiting on $75,000 from the State for transportation and tuition reimbursement.

Schuler also reported that they are continuing to research construction options for a fire wall separating the kitchen and cafeteria at Herrick Elementary, as well as researching current energy usage at both buildings to determine whether electrical upgrades are needed.

Schuler also reviewed the Beecher City Social Worker Intergovernmental Agreement with the Board and it was agreed to continue the agreement through the 2019-2020 school year.

In personnel matters, the Cowden-Herrick board agreed to move Kevin Cutler from the custodian pay rate to the maintenance pay rate; hired Kimberly Youhas as junior high track coach; and approved a maternity leave request from Kristin Blakey beginning April 8.
