Teutopolis Village Board members Wednesday awarded audit work.

The agreement with Kemper CPA Group is for three years at a cost of $14,000 the first year.

The Board heard from residents concerned about a lack of drainage and excess traffic at the Curl Bar and Meraki Salon along Main Street across from Teutopolis Grade School. The top floor of the two-story structure is residential.

Board members learned that once the development of the site is completed, the concerns should be alleviated.

Concerns were also heard about traffic on Oak Street by Main Street near Teutopolis Grade School. Vision can sometimes be obscured at the intersection. The issue has been a concern for many years. A problem is when motorists move into the marked area where vehicles are not to stop, which is when sight lines are obscured.

The Village of Teutopolis is also reminding residents that as of Monday, January 7, the 2019 Golf Cart stickers will be available for purchase at the Village Hall during normal business hours. If the golf cart was inspected in 2018, you do not need the cart inspected this year. You will need to fill out paperwork, show your current driver's license and proof of insurance to obtain the sticker.

The cost of the sticker is $50.00.

If the cart has never been inspected, you will need an appointment to have it inspected. Phone the Village Hall to set up a time for the inspection.

If anyone is stopped driving a cart on village streets without a 2019 sticker, they will be ticketed; no allowances will be given.

Information is available on the Village's website.
