A local man has been sentenced to four years in prison for possession of methamphetamine.

32-year-old Aaron Broadnax, who has a St. Louis address but also has lived in Effingham, was arrested in March 2017 but was admitted to Problem Solving Court in July 2017.

Violations of Problem Solving Court guidelines were found earlier this year, leading to Broadnax's dismissal from the program and his sentencing on the meth possession charge.

Broadnax must pay a $500 mandatory drug assessment, but faces no fines. He was given credit for 156 days served awaiting disposition of his case.
