The Olney man who wanted to withdraw his guilty plea in connection with the death of an eight-year-old girl has withdrawn his motion to withdraw the plea.

54-year-old Glen Ramey pleaded guilty in January to predatory criminal sexual assault, a Class X felony meaning mandatory prison time, in return for dismissal of a count of first-degree murder. In March, Ramey was sentenced to 60 years in prison, the maximum possible sentence.

In September, Ramey was given permission to file a motion to withdraw his guilty plea concerning the death in November 2016 of Sabrina Stauffenberg.

However, during a court hearing Friday morning in Richland County Circuit Court, Ramey withdrew his motion to withdraw the guilty plea.
