Effingham Park District commissioners have decided to maintain 2019 Park District program fees at the same rates as 2018, with one exception.

Park District Director Jeff Althoff said the fee for Adventure Camp will be increased by $20 per week. Althoff said the move is designed to cover the costs of the camp. Adventure Camp saw a large increase in participation this year from the inaugural year in 2017.

Commissioners also reviewed the proposed tax levy for the coming year. Althoff said there are no real changes in the levy from last year.

There was discussion of progress on the pavilion for Harmony Playground. Wind blew down the trusses for the pavilion, but those have been replaced and roof work is underway.

There was also an update on activities at the Workman Sports and Wellness Complex, including a new general manager for the facility. Jake Junghanel has departed the center to take another job. Patty Smith has been named the general manager of the complex.
