The Effingham County 911 Board Monday laid over for public inspection a budget projected to finish the fiscal year in the black.

911 Board Chairman Julie Stephens said revenues are projected to outstrip expenses by $5,521. Final action on the budget should happen at the board's November meeting, in time for the new fiscal year December 1.

The Board approved a renewal of 911 liability insurance. Premiums will be lower than last year.

Also approved was an increase in salaries of 2.25% for System Administrator Jodi Moomaw, IT Manager Jason Repking, Addressing Coordinator Tina Daniels and Administrative Assistant Joyce Worman.

Board members discussed the coordination of the move by 911 into the new city police station, and also discussed a 911 tower site located between Effingham and Teutopolis that is apparently no longer needed since it involved analog phone equipment that is not being used. Sheriff Dave Mahon said he would investigate how to get 911 separated from the tower.
