Mason Teenager Injured in Crash

A Mason teenager was injured in a crash just before 1am Sunday.

Effingham County sheriff's deputies report 16-year-old Marissa Lonngren was traveling on Illinois Route 37, just east of VanBuran Street in Watson, when she lost control of her car. The vehicle ran off the highway and into the left side ditch.

Lonngren was injured and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Lonngren was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
