Lake Land College Dental Hygiene Alumni and the community are invited to a ribbon cutting ceremony of the new Heartland Dental Dental Hygiene Lab on Friday, Sept. 28 at 1 p.m. in the Northwest Building.

The ceremony will honor Heartland Dental for its gift to the Lake Land College Foundation that allowed for the purchase of all new equipment for the clinic. A reception in Webb Hall room 081 will immediately follow the ribbon cutting.

Lake Land College students provide dental cleanings, X-rays and education to patients in the Dental Hygiene Lab on campus in the Northwest Building. The gift provided for new dental units, chairs and equipment that allow students to receive hands-on training and experience found in the workplace. With the new units, the college was able to install computers in the stations that allow students to utilize software to chart electronically, enter patient information and data and receive training on technology current to many offices in the industry.

“We are truly grateful to Heartland Dental for partnering with Lake Land College and investing in our students’ future. This generous gift will provide state-of-the-art training equipment and educational opportunities for our dental hygiene students,” Lake Land College President Josh Bullock said.

For questions about the ceremony contact Paula Rosine, director of foundation operations, at 217-234-5445 or prosine@lakelandcollege.edu.
