Watson resident Kristopher Mette has been sentenced to 14 years in prison on drug charges.

The 26-year-old Mette pleaded guilty Monday to participation in methamphetamine manufacturing, more than 15 grams but less than 100 grams. The charge is a Class X felony, punishable by mandatory imprisonment of from six to 30 years.

Mette was arrested in July. The offense occurred in the 300 block of North 4th Street, which is in close proximity to St. Anthony Catholic Church. He will serve three years' mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

A co-defendant, Wally Nichols, is awaiting extradition to Illinois to have his case prosecuted.
