A 69-year-old Kinmundy man who allegedly accepted a package at his home from China that contained Alpha PVP or bath salts has pleaded guilty to unlawful possession with intent to deliver a controlled substance.

Robert Lane was placed on two years probation, three days in the Marion County Jail with credit, and ordered to undergo drug and alcohol evaluation.

The State Police Drug Task Forces from Collinsville and Effingham combined efforts to take Lane into custody at his home in January of last year after delivering the package that had earlier been intercepted by Homeland Security.

The second count of possession with intent to deliver more than 200 grams of the substance was dropped as part of the plea.
