The Suzette Brumleve Memorial Effingham Public Library has learned that its 2017 Annual Fund Mailer "Read, Imagine, Grow!" won national acclaim with a “Best of Show” marketing award in a competition for North American libraries with annual operating budgets under $5 million. The award is being presented on June 24 during the American Library Association Annual Conference in New Orleans.

This is the sixth time the Library’s marketing work has been recognized at this national event; it has now won five Best of Shows and one Honorable Mention.

The mailer was designed in-house by the library and printed by Wortman Printing of Effingham.

Over 400 entries from across North America were submitted in print and electronic formats from a wide variety of libraries including public, academic, school, state, and consortiums. Entries were evaluated on content, originality, design, and effectiveness by a team of experts in public relations, graphic design, communications, and marketing who select the winner in each category.

The awards, which recognize the very best in public relations materials produced by libraries across North America, are given by the Library Leadership and Management Association Public Relations and Marketing Section PR Xchange Committee of the American Library Association.
