Crashes w/Injuries Over the Weekend

City police handled three crashes over the weekend involving injuries.
One person was injured in a crash at 6:36pm Friday on North 3rd Street at the interstate onramp. Police say a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Margaret Armstrong of O'Fallon turned into the path of, and was struck by, a vehicle driven by 22-year-old Tashawna Morrison of Shumway. Armstrong was injured but refused treatment. Police cited Armstrong for failure to yield.

Two vehicles collided just after noon Sunday at Keller Drive and Evergreen Avenue. Police say 25-year-old Joseph Etcheson of Vandalia entered the intersection and was struck by a vehicle driven by 48-year-old Harold Rhyne of Denison, Texas. Etcheson was injured and was taken by ambulance to St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham. Etcheson was cited for disobeying a traffic control device.

A rear-end collision occurred at 8pm Sunday north of the intersection of Keller Drive and Evergreen Avenue. Police say a vehicle driven by 19-year-old Joey Tieffel of Effingham rear-ended a vehicle driven by 23-year-old Darin Greuel of Effingham. Greuel was injured and was taken by private vehicle to St. Anthony's. No citations were issued.
