A Flora man has been sentenced to eight years in prison for drugs.

44-year-old Robert Sherman pleaded guilty to a count of delivery of methamphetamine. Sherman will be on two years mandatory supervised release once out of prison.

Sherman and 22-year-old Trinity Payne of Louisville were arrested last October following a joint investigation by the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force and the Flora Police Department with the assistance of the Clay County State's Attorney's Office.

Payne, also charged with meth delivery, is next due in court on April 25.
