Details in on Saturday Crash of Car and Motorcycle

State police Wednesday released updated information on a Saturday night crash involving a car and a motorcycle.

The crash was reported at 8:11pm on I-57 southbound, three miles north of Effingham. Police say the car driven by 23-year-old Taylor Buzzard of St. Elmo struck the rear of the cycle operated by 43-year-old Jeremy Mullins of Bethalto.

The cycle became lodged in the front of the car and remained upright on its wheels. Both units came to a stop together in the middle of the roadway.

Mullins was injured in the collision and was taken to HSHS St. Anthony's Memorial Hospital in Effingham.

Buzzard was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash.
