Effingham Man Named Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs Employee of the Year

The Illinois Department of Veterans' Affairs has named Lynn Brown, a Veteran Service Officer from Effingham, its employee of the year. He was recently recognized during Veterans Day activities at the DuQoin State Fair.

 Brown is well known by peers for his knowlege of State and Federal programs, entitlements and benefits for veterans and often volunteers his time creating awareness of the IDVA as well as participating in various fundraising acivities that suppport veterans and their families.  

He also enjoys creating shadow boxes filled with a photo of the veteran, campaign ribbons, service awards and medals.

Lynn Brown has served Effingham and the surrounding counties for over 26 years.
