The Illinois Department of Commerce and Economic Opportunity has awarded Community Development Block Grants for public infrastructure projects.

The City of Neoga has been granted $450,000 for Phase I water distribution system improvements.

Oconee Township has received $450,000 for water distribution improvements in Fayette and Shelby Counties.

The Village of Strasburg was granted $450,000 for Phase II water distribution system improvements.

40 communities are receiving federal funds totaling $15.3 million. The grants will help Illinois' low-income communities undertake much needed public infrastructure projects such as water, sanitary system and sewer enhancements that become the backbone of future growth and economic development.
