Fire Damages Mobile Home Near Beecher City

Fire did extensive damage to a vacant mobile home south and west of Beecher City Thursday morning.

Tri-County Fire Protection District firefighters were notified at 10:43am of the fire, which was through the roof at one point. The mobile home is owned by Marion Julius and is located on 2900th Avenue in Fayette County.

Firefighters have no word yet on the cause of the fire, or its point of origin. The homeowner asked that the State Fire Marshal's Office be called in to investigate the fire.

Tri-County firefighters were assisted by fire companies from Altamont, Shumway, Cowden, Stewardson and Herrick. No firefighters were injured.

Fire crews cleared the scene at 12:09pm.
