Injury Crash South of Dieterich Overnight

One man was injured in a crash overnight south of Dieterich.

Effingham County Sheriff's Department reports a vehicle driven by 25-year-old Damon Ellis was traveling on the Dieterich/Clay City Blacktop about 1am today when the crash occurred. 

Ellis' vehicle ran off the roadway, came back onto the roadway and into the oncoming lane. The vehicle then left the roadway again, struck a ditch and overturned, coming to rest on its side. 

Ellis was injured, but refused treatment. He was cited for failure to reduce speed to avoid the crash, operating a vehicle with suspended registration, operating an uninsured motor vehicle and driving while his license is suspended.
