Teutopolis village board members voted to rejoin the Effingham County Creating Entrepreneurial Opportunities Board at this week's meeting.

The CEO Board membership includes a three-year commitment of $1,000 each year.

Village board members heard from Bob Schultz on behalf of the Construction Trades Education Curriculum program, or CTEC. The program provides instruction to students in the building trades. The course was established due to a scarcity of young people educated in the trades and survey results that indicated the average age of those working in the building trades is 50 years old.

The Board said they would decide at their next meeting whether they want to contribute toward the program.

Board members voted to contract with Visu-Sewer to correct a sanitary sewer line break at Green and Elm Streets. The work will cost $21,492. It was also voted to approve crack filling work on Water Street from North Race Street west to Crystal Street.

Teutopolis board members also heard the latest on a business incubator site in place next to the Village Hall. It's hoped the space will be ready for occupancy by the first part of March. For more information on the site, phone Teutopolis Village Hall at 857-3543.
