First, a motel, now a house.

Effingham city police investigated a vehicle striking a house at 1:38am Tuesday. The crash happened at a house at 902 St. Anthony Avenue. Police report 19-year-old Hunter McWhorter of Watson lost control of her vehicle, which ran off the roadway and struck and damaged the house.

McWhorter was ticketed for no valid driver's license, operating an uninsured motor vehicle, and driving too fast for conditions.

The incident followed a Monday afternoon incident where a Farina woman drove into the lobby of Comfort Suites on West Fayette. No one was injured in that incident, either.
