Community Foundation Adds Board Member

The Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation recently appointed Steve Hardin of Mattoon to its governing board of directors.

Hardin is the owner of Jack and Bill's Clothing, a specialty clothing shop featuring tailored men's clothing and tuxedos, in Mattoon. He has 46 years of business experience and has been the owner of Jack and Bill's for 38 years. Hardin began working for Jack and Bill's Clothing in Canton, IL in 1961 at the age of 14. He attended Spoon River Community College and Bradley University where he focused on marketing and retailing. After completing his education in 1968, Hardin began working at the Mattoon location of Jack and Bill's and took over the business as owner in 1977. He and his wife, Carolyn, reside in Mattoon.

According to Joedy Hightower, President/CEO of the Southeastern Illinois Community Foundation, "Mr. Hardin joins a long tradition of strong leaders who have the capacity to provide wise council and seasoned judgment to guide this regional organization."
