Windsor school board members have decided to say "no thanks" to the Neoga school district on consolidation discussions.

Windsor Superintendent Gavin Sronce said the Board discussed the possibility at a Board retreat earlier this week, but decided their district is stable at this time. Sronce said he has notified Neoga Superintendent Beth Pressler of his board's decision. The Board did indicate they would continue to share resources with Neoga where possible to cut costs for both districts, but would push ahead as a unit district.

The Windsor board approved a fiscal year tax levy asking for 4.97% more than what was extended last year for taxes, and agreed to seek a waiver from the State allowing District employees who live outside the district to enroll their children at Windsor on a tuition free basis.

Board members agreed to replace the doors on the north exits of the gym for $10,200 using revenue from the Shelby County 1% sales tax. In personnel moves, the Windsor board approved a maternity leave for teacher Brittney Holsapple, hired Theresa Coleman-Ehr to teach a new section of fifth graders following an earlier decision to split the original class, and hired Teresa Beoletto as a custodian.
