Jasper School Board Acts on Personnel Items

Jasper school board members took action on personnel items at this month's meeting.

The Board approved an unpaid leave of absence for Newton Elementary cross-categorical teacher Lori Kocher, and approved maternity leaves of absence for high school Spanish teacher Erica McNeely and Speech and Language teacher Erica Schumacher. The Board hired Melissa Drum as a custodian at the high school, and approved Luke Stone and Amy Koebele as volunteer girls basketball coaches at the high school.

The Jasper board approved parent-teacher conferences on November 19-20, heard that the district received a clean audit of the books for the past fiscal year, and approved board member Mandy Rieman as the district's delegate to the state school board convention in Chicago in November.

Board members got a report from students involved in the Child Care Occupations class on what they're learning and about their practicum getting underway soon at area day care centers, and heard that Parent Night is set for November 3.
