Drug Task Force, Clark County Deputies Make Counterfeiting Arrests

The Clark County Sheriff’s Office, in conjunction with the Southeastern Illinois Drug Task Force, initiated an investigation involving forgery and counterfeiting of United States Currency. The investigation has resulted in the seizure of altered, forged and manufactured United States Currency.

Authorities suspect that counterfeit United States currency was passed in Vigo County in Indiana, and Clark County in Illinois.

Police arrested Mandy Tingley age 33, of Casey and Michelle Welcher age 39, of Martinsville,
Indiana on counts of forgery. Tingley and Welcher are currently being held at Clark County Jail. Bond has been set at $20,000 for both.

The Clark County State's Attorney, Illinois State Police, Marshall Poice Department, and the United States Secret Service assisted with the investigation. The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about this case is asked to contact the Clark County Sheriff’s office 217-826-6393.
