City Officials Say Water is Safe to Drink; Some Dealing w/Funky Taste

Effingham city officials say the water is safe to drink, but might taste a little funky in parts of town.

City Director of Public Works Steve Miller said the first report of a problem occurred Wednesday night around Steak n Shake and spread south. Miller said City crews have been flushing lines in an attempt to get rid of the bad-tasting stuff, but said chlorine levels are within range and said, "It's safe to drink."
